TIP # 1.
CUT THE STEMS
Cut your stems with an angle so they can absorb more water and won't suffocate on the bottom of the vase. Check your stems every 2 or 3 days, if the ends are looking a bit slimy, then just trim off half an inch or so.
TIP # 2.
PUT THEM IN FRESH WATER
Put your flowers in your favorite vase with fresh cool water. We also recommend adding some flower food. It contains a fungicide/bactericide that will help to keep the water clean. Wash up the vase every 2 or 3 days and fill it up again with fresh water.
TIP # 3.
REMOVE LEAVES FROM BELOW WATER LEVEL
Leaves underwater are decomposing, causing rot and bacteria to grow. Take them out and also take off excess leaves, so the water and the flower food is funneled into the petals.
TIP # 4.
MIST THE PETALS
Lightly spray down the flowers from time to time. It will help to rehydrate them and keep them looking fresh. Also, remove any petals that are clearly past their prime.
TIP # 5.
KEEP THEM OUT OF DIRECT SUNLIGHT OR HEAT
Of course, you can show-off your stems of gorgeous flowers wherever they suit you! However, keeping them cool far from radiators, computers, fireplaces… etc., will prolong your flowers' lifespan.
